Contacts Overview

Docketbook is about working with your suppliers and customers.  The Contacts area is where you can maintain lists of your Docketbook Connections.

Contact "Email"

Every contact must have a contact email.  The Contact Email can be one of three things:

  • Email Address: a typical [email protected] address will send the docket via email to that person when it is Sent.

  • Mobile Phone Number: Entering a mobile number in this field will result in your customer receiving a text message when the docket is sent.  The link will take them to an online version of the docket.

  • Docketbook Address: A special address that looks like [email protected], this directs the docket to your customer's company within the Docketbook ecosystem.  Using the Docketbook Address enables additional functionality like the ability to manage docket workflow (Accept / Reject) by your customer.

Contacts can have more than one email address.  Be careful not to leave blank lines in the email address area when saving your contact as this can have unexpected consequences.

Contact Sharing

A bit like a social media connection, you can share your company contact information with your supply chain partners.  They receive a 'Contact Share' with your company or project details and can use that to send you dockets, jobs and orders.
